This just in, and sorry for the late notice: Tyler (piano) and I (guitar and yodeling) will be performing at Union Square in San Francisco tomorrow September 15th at 1pm as the musical component of the otherwise visual art-oriented Artists' Guild show. If you're out and about in the city that day, come by and say hi!

Spent the last two days holed up in the home studio with Mike, making rhythm tracks for the upcoming CD. Got going with some cool combinations of electronic drums, live drums and looped hand percussion. Inventory of toys from the rhythm sessions:
-Snare drum, hi-hats, cymbals
-Goat toes shaker
-Cylinder shaker
-Tambourine that you shake
-Tambourine that you hit
-808 kit from the sampler
-Acoustic kit from the sampler
-Sampled hits and phrases from ADAT of Mike playing a full kit back in January
-Electronic beat from Mike's PowerBook/Reason
A productive couple of sessions. Relaxed, too. Extra-curricular: lunch at Long Life Noodle Co. one day and Seabreeze the next, and the Austin Powers movie in downtown Berkeley. Curricular silliness limited mostly to my falling down laughing during a cymbal overdub. I mean, I really fell down, capsizing the papasan chair and myself onto a lamp. Studio useless, I was temporarily banished to the living room to have my giggles out there. What can I say? Sometimes cymbal overdubs are like the funniest thing you've ever heard...
